Fear

To have a heart is to have a weakness,
                                        And to have a weakness
                                                    Means
                                             You have a fear,
To have a fear is to be vulnerable.
                                             Don’t let it break.

                                          Death is my weakness.

Once you are dead there is no fear.
The biggest fear has already appeared,
                                                    Death,
                                             The end of us all.
It is near, you just haven’t realized it yet.

Life is short don’t waste it.

Death comes to those who wait,
                                        What are you waiting for?

I am waiting for my fear to disappear.

                                          I am waiting for death.
                                                  Aren’t we all?

No, life is a precious gift and we will be reborn as are all living things reborn. Death itself is nothing to fear, the dieing maybe but we can take charge of our own "going" and let it evolve in the best way possible for us. So I have decided at 60! And fear as little as possible! I'm still working on a fear of water! I'm going under again this summer. Wish me well.

Much to think about here, we all will die one day but there is something about leaving peacefully after you have led a fulfilling life..I think that those who are waiting for death feel they have nothing to live for and that is really sad.. People don't realize how truly blessed they are until it's too late.. Deep write.. Congratulations on you deep poetry being featured this week..God Bless you and best wishes to you in your writing.*Tyesha

One thing that strikes me about this work is that you never titled it 'Death' though it appears that's your subject. I think death is the most comforting thought to one who feels they have little to gain from life, and that death is the most fearful thought from one who feels unaccomplished in life. I've felt both ways. I wonder if you have as well.
