Fear

I climb a tree, but fear not the height
But dread the fall.

I fear not death,
But what life offers.

I fear not you
But myself.

I fear not the future of all,
But the future within me.

I do not fear the end,
But the beginning.

I am not afraid to try something new,
I fear that I will fail.
I fear that I will disappoint you.
I fear shame,
I fear losing my honor.
I fear growing up.
I fear love,
So I am on my own,
Because I fear the world.

The last line "brings it all home" - and is true I imagine. Nice.
