Favorite Crime

I tried to talk my way to you But you push me aside Like I was an unpaid speeding ticket you shoved away You race down highways You dash through towns No GPS was needed As you followed the map that was your mind You drove with your head instead of your heart I wish I could bail you out of the prison you call “your life” But you’re too addicted to the gas you forget to break 90 miles an hour Until it’s too late I can’t keep filling your tank as it’s draining mine Out of every law you ever broke I hope I was your favorite crime

Well written. I like the way you compare a relationship to driving. Spot on
