Father's Day 2020

My dad always carried a flask
But he never once wore a mask
If he were alive
I know he'd contrive
A way to walk off with a cask!

A Limerick is a short poem of 5 lines. Lines 1,2 and 5 have same rhyming pattern and syllabus count; while lines 3 and 4 have a different rhyming pattern and also with a different syllabus count. So it is in this manner: A-A-B-B-A. So, go back to the poem: Lines 1,2,5 (flask, mask, cask with 8 syllabus count in each) while lines 3,4 (alive, contrive have 5 syllabus counts each).

I don't know how well Glenfiddich "matures" in a bottle, but my father is prepared to toast the First Resurrection! Thank you for the kind words! Aloha! Rico

Well, Rico, in your dad's day we had presidents who knew a thing or two about our constitution and actually cared enough about "the people" to read the Pandemic Handbook they have to prepare the country BEFORE a pandemic actually hits us and realizes that it is important to listen to experts and scientists in order to prevent a disaster like the one we find ourselves in today because of his lies and incompetence. I like this slogan: "Mask it or Casket". Neat little poem. Carole :D

He was just as angry with Truman firing McArthur as I am with Trump! Truman could read, and insisted, "The buck stops here" whereas Trump always finds someone else to blame for his stupidity! Aloha! Rico
