Father Time

Oh! Father Time, please help us to understand Why as children we had plenty of time. As teenagers going in to adulthood it felt like we could Live forever. We didn't have a clue. That as we got older our days would fly by so much Faster. Your the one who controls how much sand Flows through the hour glass on command. Daylight savings time was to give us that extra hour At the end of the day. When we went back to regular time Time still slipped through our fingers Which your telling us you can't undo. What there's no replay! The turth is we're only here for a short while before We're taken to another rendezvous. Your saying the best advice you can give To us Is don't wish our life away Enjoy each and every day. There is no rain check or I.O.U. Be that special person There doesn't have to be a reason. Show your family you care, Let them know you did hear And how much you held life dear. Oh! Father Time, please help our children as they travel Through time to realize that everyone is prey To the sand as it flows.

It certainly goes by way too fast, Bette. One day you are a teen and the next day you look in the mirror and don't recognize the face anymore. However, it's all good. Nice write, Bette. The subject of time always makes for good reading.
