Father

Father, Father
Where have you been?
Waiting for you to join me for tea and crumpets
It has been a while
I lost my smile
Cannot connect with you
Dreams and expectations are too grandiose for me
My strides may be small, but stable
Cannot be compromised like before
I have grown from a rebel to a healer
Introspection fills my thoughts
Looking back on past regrets
Broken promises
Wicked betrayals
I see it now
But, the biggest regret I have is loosing you
