Father

Everything
is wrapped somehow
arrangements in the corner
ham on polished oval plate
brand new shoes
people whom they don't know
picture for why
he won't wake up

they must pay attention
so they don't smudge the blouse
they don't know why

whatever

stains
shouldn't be seen because

well

they have to pay attention

from the window noticed
in the street
freshly painted bench
and
soiled ball
remain astonished

everything is wrapped somehow
in black
and someone should explain them.
