Father

When I was a boy My father said, "My days may be few." "But my will is strong." "Grow up be a man." "Make me proud." "Make me glad." That was when I was a lad. Now there are no more days. And I am sad. My father is here with my soul I hope you are proud I hope you are glad. I grew up still remembering his praise. Now I don't understand my rage. I never said I loved you... That day has long gone by. Now I cry with memories Of the past that drain Into a well vast. I can't say good-bye, But I know in my heart You are glad. In my heart you are proud. Proud of your little lad. IN MEMORIAM TO MY FATHER
