Father

All I have is a vivid image of you I've wanted to meet you all of my life You never were around You never wanted to see me I've heard all the stories I've heard all the lies Or were they? You never was here to defend yourself I always did it on my own You never called You never "dropped in" Where were you? I always waited for a phone call Or a note in the mail I thought you loved me Maybe I was wrong Because a note isn't enough A phone call, or :dropping in"--isn't enough! Can't you see what I want? I want a father I DID want you!
