Fate's Fond Arrival

We've crossed stars, lives and two oceans
each coming from our own Eastern island
We've arrived now at the crossroads where fate
has fondly, forked the road and asked us to choose
We've had a lifetime to reach this place and yet
a gift, a second lifetime is now perhaps before us
We've carried our own burdens and tended each
our fires for so long; can we, will we, dare we, share?

Intriguing and wistful. It might be well to remove the unneeded comma after "where fate has fondly"....
