Fat, Juicy, and Sweet
blood red
forest green
China blue sky
pomegranate blooms
cling tight to trees
tussled by the breeze
pretty petals flutter away
budding bumps emerge
summer swells
crimson, fat, juicy, and sweet
sagging branches
bird pecked
dripping down
javelina break
a flimsy fence
to eat the fallen
and I don't know
by then
where I'll be
waiting on you
waiting on me
wanting to stay
wanting to leave
it's usually enough
just to feel the sun
now I need
to feel someone
where does it go
does the summer swell
into red, fat, juicy and sweet
waiting on you waiting on me
clinging to someone
on this rolling sea
like the blossoms
tossed by the breeze
do I tighten my hold
or do I let go
of my juicy and sweet
to flee this prison
alone but free
