Fascists

Fascists today are those who label others fascists. As Hayek said long ago, “Fascism is the stage reached after communism has proved an illusion.” And there are certainly a lot of commies, at least the wannabe idealistic kind, today that are upset, in denial or clueless that their cause is a failure. Mao and Stalin spent years taking turns calling each other just that, and they were both right since the lustrous aspiration of global communism soon faded into national socialism which is essentially the definition of fascism. But fascists today, you know, the ones calling others fascists, don’t know their history. And the interesting thing about not knowing your history, besides the fact you’re then doomed to repeat it, is that you’re also then living in La La Land. (10/4/23)
