Fascist America

If you think this is just temporary
and tomorrow all things will be good
That Republicans will become loyal
do the things Representatives should
You are likely to be disappointed 
because fascism’s already here
It is shrouded to keep us uncertain
always wondering, living in fear

The law firms we thought as distinguished
are a shell of what we once admired
As they’ve cowered and paid off a cretin
losing that which had made us inspired
Now the people can no longer trust them
for the bribes have already been paid
And the words which they speak have no meaning
as their honor was given in trade

The old schools which we cherished for centuries 
are now part of the new fascist rise
For the lessons they’ll teach will be tainted
as the People respond in surprise 
Now America is a police state
who will kidnap and take you away 
ICE is masked as they punch, kick and beat you
they don’t care who they take, what you say

We are funding a genocide daily 
all the missiles are made with our hands
Dropped on innocents starving in Gaza
where a new Riviera is planned
They have started the cheat for elections 
like they do almost every time 
Gerrymandering being accepted
like a legal acceptance of crime

This old story has not changed in centuries
Native blood still lies under the earth 
In a land filled with greed, lies and hatred 
it was bound to allow fascist birth
