Farwell, My Poetry Soup Fun Run

Farewell Poetry Soup, to my Challenge run
I've surpassed the goal I set to pass someone
and I confess it didn't take very long to do
before becoming addicted, but now I'm through

There's no poetic achievement that I found
in blacking out words of others, round after round
Or in analyzing a poem written by another poet
I'm not a laureate and humbly admit, I know it

So, have it the challenges, you who are gung ho
It was fun for a while but I'm moving on, so...
wheels and magnetic boards for me... no more
I won't comment on poems just to up my score

It was interesting to play for a while but I'm done
Writing poetry I conceive on my own is more fun
Amusing were the known AI users who chose to play
those whose words written without AI are on display

Lin, I thought you were having fun with the challenges? It would be nice if the challenges went a step further and winners were picked each week for the challenges. I have noticed some will leave the same, generic comment on many poems just to be try to be on the top and not really participate in the challenges. Glitchy for sure. The trivia sometimes shows 4 out of 5 right when all 5 questions were answered correctly, annoying. I hope you change your mind, I enjoy your input in the games.

It was fun at first but trivia became monotonous with the same questions and if you didn’t make sure you squarely hit the answer, it showed up as being unanswered. I also noticed the generic comments made just to score points and the AI analysis of famous poem of the day. Some people just can’t seem to process without it. I hope you stay ahead of those who do such things but I’m not going to participate any longer.

At first it read like you were saying goodbye and about to leave... but not sure this place would be the same without you.... Sadly there are some who only want the accolades.. I have no time for such plastic petals... so, I just post and comment when I can and support poets... I have never really understood the point of blackout poetry... i guess its a bit of fun.. but yeah....I still do not know who these known AI users are... there are those who criticise it, but still use it.. so sly..

I am not sure what the glitches are, I do not spend that much time on here... Life is too busy.. I am not sure it is that easy to tackle AI, sadly.. What is AP? All poetry?

I wasn't going to try what was being offered as fun challenges but then I did. I'd preferred if they would repair the glitches. It was fun for a while and I did what Iset out to do, but that was an empty victory for what is to be gained by defeating AI? I started thinking of blackout poetry as a massacre of another poet's creation. Yes, those who many know use it are acting the part of the innocent... sly and unworthy of the trophy wins they've received. There are so few contests I enter these days, but I'm still enjoying AP.

You dont need fun games, they are good when one feels like they are going through writers block. Or when one needs inspiration ~ you are full of that, alot of rhymes in your heart linnersz. I’m not a fan of the blackout poetry…did it once. Seems too much to be using someone else’s words and phrases.

Yes, Kim. I felt like that after a while... as if my interpretation was discrediting the poet's full meaning.
