Farmer Mcgillicuddy

Poor old Farmer McGillicuddy
He’s somewhat of a fuddy-duddy
   He plows with an ox
   All progress he blocks
No wonder his corn tastes so cruddy

"plows with an ox" - This is hard to fathom in this day and age.

You never know, Caren. If your computer goes down, you still might need to 'ox' some questions... Smiles, Gershon

Good one, Gershon. I thought you might be too young to remember Connie Mack!

Actually, I was six years old when Connie Mack died. He was talked about a lot in my home, as my dad remembered the great Yankees and A's teams of the '20's and 30's. (My dad was born in 1914). Thanks, Eric. :) gw

Is farmer McGillicuddy related to the Dr. McGillicuddy. The Dr.'s stuff is kind of cruddy too.

I don't know... And I don't know if he's related to Cornelius McGillicuddy (aka Connie Mack, who managed the A's from 1900 - 1950), either... But I do know that his name rhymes with 'Silly Buddy!' Keep smiling, Gershon

Looks as if you like your funny bone tickled, Anne. A limerick a day keeps the blues away, they say. Keep smiling, Gershon
