Farewell To Seyndason My Cinderella Horse

I looked into your open eyes-
no one else could hear my cries.
I knew the truth straight away-
your gallant spirit had flown away.

A spirit that was still strong and bold-
yet trapped in a body that had become old.
I knew your heart was growing weak-
still, I was not prepared for your final sleep.

Your final sleep thankfully free of pain-
releasing your spirit to run free again.
I wish I could have said goodbye-
but I am glad you did not tarry to see me cry.

As even now I cry for you-
and all the things we used to do.
The things some said you could never do-
most you proved were not beyond you.
