Farewell
Today is one, fateful moment---
But somehow time took a long while
When our pledge brought us together---
Into ties that did bind
When wrapped so closely we were as one,
Joined together under northern sun
Your meadow now-it brings a tear
To my eye,
As the lilting light of remembrance
Makes me cry.
Picking a photo, and holding it close
Looking up at the sweet blue sky,
And remembering---just remembering
Just once and not any more,
Our long ago-- -and final good-bye!
