Far From the Best

I know am far from the best
living in a life surrounded in an alcoholic mess
life everyday here for a young Native is a lifelong test
slap dead middle in of America right in the Mid-West
We can be living for more but we are settling for less
Many of us ending up full blown alcoholics in the reservation quest
Many of us stuck still livng in mama and papa's nest
Living third world so many of our adults can give a **** how we may look or dress
Hearts pounding wildly for opportunity in the chest
While Alcohol and drugs into our young minds continue to infest
I try even though I know I am far from the best....
