Far Behind
The tapestry of love,
falls upon you
with a smile
a touch
kind words
it is woven to you
and wrapped all around you
The consideration,
never refected upon
it is automatic
an open door
a longing to be loved
never thought about
do we think of ourselves
or just love ?
The reality,
do you not remember
the day ?
tears were forced
in love's eye !
a hurting
that lingers
The truth,
speaking to your
heart and mind
they seem to argue
it's a fight
it is a parody
awareness strikes
a curious blow
we all become
like sheep
led on
to the slaughter
The aftermath,
hurt and pain
unbelief and shock
but
the tapestry of love
still clings just a little
enough to keep
love in your
tear soaked eyes
The days after,
still friends
and sometime lover's
still knocking
on the door
but
knowing
a lioness
dressed as a lamb
as time
passes away
in silence
leaving the threads
of love slowly
far behind us
