Notes About The Poem

Congress needs to take a look at themselves and make the decision that party loyalty and the "not invented here" attitudes, are not the be all to end all. Get over yourselves and govern with the interest of the people; not of you high and mighty selves.

Fantasy

Fantasy's reality
That hasn't been pursued.
If we can dream it, we can do it.
It's about the attitude.

Possibilities are endless
If we believe in we;
Can turn most any fantasy
Into reality

Founding fathers had a fantasy,
They worked to make it real,
The Congress, now in Washington
Does not have such appeal

To think the congress of today
Does the work that they should do
May be the biggest fantasy
This nation ever knew

To earn their pay for nothing
Is their present fantasy.
Shame on them, they've made it
Our every day reality

We the people have a fantasy
Of hands across the aisle
Of passing bills, that make us well,
Put infrastructure in the pile

Solve illegal immigration
Return our military might
Support our country's men in blue
So we sleep throughout the night

First we must leave the starting line
To expect to win the race
Making fantasies, realities,
To put this country back in place.

I found your poem interesting, and agree.I also loved the rhyme and rhythm. Although I'm Australian I have read about your founding fathers, and believe the world would be a better place if returned to the morality and ideals of such outstanding early leaders.

Thank you so much for visiting all the way from Australia. I was in Sydney once on business. Stayed out on Manly Beach...A wonderful place. Please visit agaai
