Family Picture

There they are
forever watching me,
guiding me, even
as my day chugs along.
They’re always there
giving me their smiles;
reassuring me
that there’s a purpose,
there’s a reason
that I come here each day.
I come here for them,
not to get away from them,
no, quite the opposite,
but to give them everything
I possibly can,
to give them a home,
to give them comfort and warmth
that in turn gives me smiles.
But, why do I feel bad
when not in their presence?
Because, I’m not there,
I am here.
So, again, I look to my desk,
see their loving faces
and I smile
knowing I soon will leave here
and find my way
back home to them,

Loved it Michael. Its great to be a teacher and even greater to love the family. Ah now I know what my teachers normally think on leaving:) Smile, Chitra

Full of warm love......love for family. As a former teacher I saw too little of this, hence big problems. Love, daver
