Familiar Faces

Sinking in peace and grounded in my thoughts. Memories in my mind page for page. The gift of life and the many days taken for granted. Wondering what is waiting once all is done. Walking dusty roads seeing familiar faces. Hoping the judgement is not harsh. Do not let the memories burn away! The gift of life and familiar faces. Do not cast me away into oblivion Oh God with no comfort from your voice. Do not punish me to the point I won't recognize my own face. Give me a chance Oh Lord to right my wrongs. Remembering the hymns of my mother the songs. Do not cut me off from you and all of the familiar faces.

Dear Winnie, I wanted to take a moment to express how deeply your poem felt to me. How you captured the essence of reflection, introspection, and the longing for redemption is genuinely moving. The juxtaposition of the gift of life with the realization of its often unnoticed passing is thought-provoking. Your plea to not be cast away into oblivion, to retain the essence of self amidst judgment, is profoundly touching. Moreover, including faith and the yearning for divine comfort and forgiveness adds another layer of depth to your poem. Well Written! - Blessings, Daniel
