False Truth

How do you live your life

knowing you’re living a lie?

How do you admit to yourself

that everything you know is false?

I’ve been thinking,

loving,

hoping it’ll all make sense

one day.

But will it ever?

I really must ask.

Will I keep wandering this world

aimlessly,

looking for a broken light

among thousands of lies

wrapped in shadow and deceit

forever?

What’s true?

What’s false?

Or do neither exist

and only opinion stands in place?

So in this world,

filled to the brim in false truth,

what is love?

Does it even exist?

Have these flowing emotions within

been only my imagination

as I stare into the eyes

of the one I’ve longed for so?

When I kissed those gentle lips

was it a lie?

Is everything around me

just figments

of my childish imagination?

But then, if everything is false,

then my words are false too.
