False Belief

If there was another era of time
You and I would be in it
Loving each other eternally
But you see, it is a faded dream
The pain is a harsh reality
Every time I lay in your arms
Taste your kiss, embrace your touch
You will never be mine
For the taken
This love affair seems to be mistaken
Do you feel the agony and torture
I have endured over these years
Watching you paint a picture
Of a life that isn't real
When my life goes on
What will you do then
Seeing me with another
Will it make you
Uncomfortable in your skin
Knowing you could have had
A beautiful life with me
And you will stand there
Completely and utterly empty

Read twice, unsure of its bicycle title.. unless the lone object moving through a vast scene of noise and multitudes. You create scenes with alternate flashes of solemnity and colour.
