Fall's Departure

This long sojourn is

   prelude to fall's departure.

          On a river, clear…

             I hold blossoming jasmines

and Mama's final ashes

this was very poignant and reflective, nette, how a traditional tanka should be, very lovely - i think i would have preferred a different word to 'final', and that pushed it into 3rd, but a really good tanka - congrats on your win in my contest :)

wow, I think my favorite of all that I have seen so far. Now why didn't you do one with an ending like this for summer?? This is amazing.

Well woven, expressive tanka with an ending that contrasts blossoming with death! You win, woman!
