Falling

frightened as you sleep
 it comes to you again

 a dream that has haunted
 you for all these years

 your falling

 deep ,restless ,sensation
 too young to understand

 the misery of one man
who loved to hate you ?

 his anger and hate were
 all too much for you

 spilled milk at the alter
of silence , drove you in

a cell with nothing to eat
 hungry, thirsty ,wanting more

 where was momma?
 why didn’t she help me?
or were her hands tied ?

 bruised child deserves more
 wanting to stop hurting

 falling into nothingness
for the rest of my life

 falling

 falling

 falling

 want to wake up and
 live, with no dreams

a child’s only toy is his pain
