Fallen Tree Philosophy

Fallen tree philosophy

At the back of the lot
Down near the stream
Where the mosquitos swarm thick
There is always a touch more breeze
Where the woodpecker tree fell
Near that mushroom spot
And the ticks and chiggers
Way back at the very back
On the sitting log
If you need me
That's where I will be

We all need a quiet retreat where we can escape the realities of life. Nicely written, Belden. Welcome to Poetry Soup. Cheers, John

Thank you John, I feel lucky to have a place to get away. Most of the time, it is not as bad as I made it out to be :)

I am left wondering why such a place would be chosen. Is it some form of self punishment to sit among pestilence? The worth of your lines is to open the reader's mind to exactly what I'm thinking. If I'm wrong, then I'm still wondering pensive thoughts.

Good morning. Then by all means, I'll allow him to sit in contemplation until he must gather those Chanterelles and cook them with brandy butter. Thank you for such an eye opening response, Belden.

Good morning Jenna, the stoic subject is willing to endure hardship to achieve the goal of contemplative solitude. Plus the Chantrelle mushrooms are are coming in. Thank you for your comment.
