Fallen

My feet no longer touch the ground As I hear my heart wildly pound My back to the darkness As I try to embrace your kindness The whistler of the whirling air While I try not to show I always care Words are trapped in my throat As I watch you take off your baggy coat This swelling in my chest It just can't seem to rest I'm so weak in my knees Did I even remember my keys Your eyes filled with love As you tell me her hand fits like a glove My job is not to shout or throw a fit I'm here to encourage you as my own stomach becomes a pit My eyes water As I see that you love her My breath is gone Because I thought you were the one My tears may never dry But you'd never pry My knees are weak Because my love for you will never peak So live long and happy Cause I'll be there to tell you it's sappy I've fallen for you I hope you will one day fall for me too
