Fall Reigns Supreme

Softly expelling air from the frigid wind The breeze comes quickly around the bend Bringing with it the leaves of Autumn Harvesting Fall with every new vellum I like the bite of the day pressed upon me Cool tender fingers caress the dark eve The colors of yellow, amber, red, and gold All bring Autumn into the heart’s calm mold Hearing the lightness of the wind on my neck Prickling my senses, as it seemed to peck At my soul, leaving an impression on peace Lasting and heartfelt, Fall comes within reach The drooping of the trees, the flowers all bloomed Time seems to cease to continue ungroomed Now the season comes without much of a wedge The Fall reigns supreme, it’s on its own pledge Russell Sivey
