Fall of the Painting - a Very Short Story

Fall of The Painting - (A very short story)

==============================

The details of the painting were not finished yet, when exhaustion attacked him. He relaxed in front of his painting: a bare tree, long deserted by the green, with roots bare of dirt. At the top of the tree, a small bird of the exact color of the tree perched on a stiff dry branch. The painter thought of painting an army of termite raiding the tree, and also thought of... but he fell asleep in a half dreaming snooze. When he woke up he was stunned by the terrifying surprise of seeing his painting invaded by a real army of termite that made a home running from the roots to the top of the tree. The little bird was lying directly under the painting, and a swarm of ants were in and out of its beak and its stiff eyes.

The End.
