Nonet Poetry Contest

~ Placed First~

As the sun gently slid down western hills, a large mass of clouds some grey, some white, some pink lay spread across the blue sky. The lazy wind darned their edges, with its wanton hands to a cluster. Golden twilight spread across the earth. Crickets were singing in chorus. Fireflies flashed their tiny lights. Stars arrayed in night sky. Moon showed her fair face. Sky was teal blue. Earth fell still. Darkness, loomed.

A very expressive and descriptive double Nonet you have written. If for a contest, it reads like a good contender to me. Way to go. Thanks for sharing it with us and for dropping by my page. Sara K

Dear Valsa, this is absolutely gorgeous and flows with such descriptive and detailed imagery that I absolutely loved from the very first line. Especially “ The lazy wind darned their edges, with its wanton hands to a cluster.“ the way you described wind here is so creative and unique!” From fireflies to moon and stars, this one left me in awe! Perfect! Congratulations on your well deserved win! Thank you for sharing. Wishing you beautiful holidays with loves ones.

Gosh, so many amazing lines here.. "Moon showed her fair face.Sky was teal blue" And that ending has a slight hint of sombre feelings which dwell in darkness.. A profound write! I'm sure this will do very well in the contest, best of luck :)

Outstanding Nonet, Valsa. Your imagery is spectacular. You've beautifully captured the essence of twilight and dusk--my favorite time of the day--a time of introspection and peace. Best wishes with the contest....have a great evening, Sara

An exquisite nonet that portrays the marvels of dusk and twilight. I adore that period when the planet is silent. Good luck with the contest dear Valsa
