FALL OF MAN

Blind as man is He sees not beyond his nose Befriending the devil Bringing temptation very close. Blind as man can be He heeds not Adam’s tale Of how he yielded to false desire Trading eternal peace for a bite. Like steel in an inferno Samson melted at a touch Surrendering his strength and will For a deceit that cost him much. Blinded as man always is The cause of his fall lies just beneath But he cannot see, for his eyes are veiled Clouded by the scent of lust.
