Fall From Grace

I am
But a worm
Crawling in the
Damp dark earth

Or yet
A creepy bug
That can neither
Fly nor walk

Have I
Stumbled so far
To warrant
This transformation?

How have
I so lost
My way
As to lack human form?

Insidious erosion
Of things so fair
And decent
Day by day die

Discipline the heart
The mind
The soul
For survival of grace
