Fall Day Fair
Once upon a bright Autumn day
Traipsing along a wooded way
Sunlight dancing through maple limbs
As gentle wind makes them to sway
Rustic red leaves scamper and skim
Along the pathways outer rim
Causing the trail to seem ablaze
Pausing I hear a sparrow’s hymn
Pebbles role as a chipmunk plays
I amble on a little ways
The scent of campfire fills the air
The stillness breaks as a hound bays
Wandering on without a care
Natural high from Autumn air
Mind elevated by the whim
Of hiking on a fall day fair
