Falkor

You arrive like a rumor of dawn, white as a wish before it is spoken,a long bright curve of couragethreading the sky.

Your scales catch the sunlike coins from a forgotten kingdom, and your laughter—if dragons can laugh—rolls warm as thunder over the plains of Fantasia.

Beneath your wings, the world remembers how to be wondrous:swamps shimmer, ruins breathe, and even fear loosens its grip.

Atreyu clung to hopethe way a child clings to a story, and you carried himthrough the blue distance of impossible things.

You are luck made living,a blessing with a heartbeat,a guardian who teaches the lostthat wonder is not weakness.

When the Nothing came, you did not turn away. You flew straight into the wound of the sky,all white fire and faith,as if joy itself could be a shield.

And perhaps it can.

Perhaps every dream needs a dragonto lift it above the dark,to remind the small, trembling heartthat it was born to soar.

So carry us, Falkor, over the towers of forgetting, past the edge of the ordinary, into the endless pagewhere names are never truly lost.

Let your great wings open like the final line of a beloved tale, and let us believe again—in luck,in light,in the endless story that keeps us flying.
