Fake Tears

Just because I don't agree with you
This is what you decide to do
Shove your frown into my personal space
And start screaming in my face

Time has changed the way things are
People think they have the right to go too far
Back in the day I'll tell you what I'd do
Get in my face and I'd beat the hell out of you

But it doesn't pay anymore to lose my temper
And bring you to your knees and make you whimper
Because these days all I would do is fight
To make the idiots today do what is right

So spare me in my twilight years
Of all your whining, your hurt and your fake tears
I don't care what you say anymore brother
Your words go in one ear and out the other

true true true! I now understand why my grandparents would only shake their heads or nod, smiling when controversial topics were discussed. Eventually it just becomes like water off a duck's back. :)

I think our parents made us wiser at an early age. Some kids today get zero training.
