Fake Smiles

they dont know what they really see
and cant see through the lie
for she fools them into believing fake
when she flashes another smile

its hard to pretend to be perfect
even harder to deceive who you love
but she knew she'd never show the truth
or reveal who she really was

and each time she smiles
she gets a little weaker inside
a little sadder
a little less pride
but she still smiles through what hurts
forever stricken by its curse
