Faithful Servant

Red, white and blue
Faithful and true
This poem is dedicated to those
Who fight in the face of war
To ensure that terrorism is no more
You leave behind your family
You leave behind your life
To take on another
To save mine and that of my brother
You are a mother
You are a brother
You are a sister
You are a father
You are a family
You are just like me
Yet so much more
We owe our lives to you
Our unnamed heroes
Who fight a war that shouldn't be
Because you are loyal to your country
Risking your lives somewhere foreign
To save the land you were born in
I can only hope that
You know who you are
What you are
But most of all what you mean
To this country
And to me.
