Faith

The barren feed the barren and empty hearts a like in manner seek to satisfy a sadness, struck deep within the marrow of the meek. They blame the cheerful, and cast them far beyond the realm of consciousness, while coddling the joyless with sorrows that would spoil true happiness. Faith will master self-deception, reduce to ash the all-consuming flame of ruinous self-interest, and sow the seeds of honour once again.

So much truth in your words. Wonderful last stanza--so creative! There is a lot to ponder in your words. Thank you for sharing this poem with us and for your kind comments on my haiku. Keep up the good writing! Karen
