Fait Accompli

young john anthony david grant
was brought up by his maiden aunt
who though she filled his life with joys
had little experience of men or boys
she taught him manners and dressed him neat
so he always raised and lowered the toilet seat
washed his hands and combed his hair
and sat politely in his chair
a delightful type of boy who
never spoke until spoken to
they lived an idyllic country life
free of stress and free of strife

until one day on its way to town
a circus passed with a lady clown
she was smart and she was pretty
she was funny and she was witty
and she caused stirrings in the pants
of young john anthony david grant
she didn’t mean him any harm
as he showed her around the farm
let’s just say she showed him joy
brought back a man instead of a boy
he travels with the circus and has his place
as that sad clown with the big white face

but his life is filled with love and pleasure
for that lady clown was a rare treasure
his maiden aunt now has her own caravan
and lives with a roadie called big stan
she didn’t mind that he seduced her
after john anthony went and introduced her
life goes on in its pleasant way
all four enjoy every single day
sometimes life just isn’t sad
and I for one don’t think that’s bad
neither does john anthony david grant
or his one time maiden aunt

Life sure takes its twists and turns, we just never now where we will be led. A beaut story Terry, told in the familiar Terry Ireland way. Love your "story poems" Always the best. Thanks for this one.

Most of my performing is in pubs at open mics. A lot of folk are just there for the beer so you gotta try and make ‘em laugh to get their attention. This one goes down well. Thanks Wen.
