Fairy Tails

Sometimes I wonder
If I've seen too much
Will it carry me under?
Too distant to touch?

I'm not too sure about it
The scars left on my skin
Is it true, courageous grit?
Or was I too weak to win?

Defeating demons razor blades
That lie inside my tragic flaws
Therein lies the center piece
I'm just a drifter with degrees

Perceptions seem to say to me
Just settle down and let it be
But I won't stop and settle down
Until I burn them to the ground

Being chased or chasing dreams?
Can I live outside the seams?
The level plane where people lie
With bonding ties of getting high

Honestly, is anything real?
Tangible, so I can feel
Am I simply spinning wheels?
Surviving days with what I steal

Questions flood without a course
Addictions flare without remorse
Survive without a reason why
With every day until I die
