Failure

Have you ever died, still on your feet?

Did you lay your heart open?

Did it break at their feet?

Did they trample it down?

Did the hurt make you weak?

And how many days will you continue to weep?

Know your worth, and lift up your chin, look forward,

that's where you're going. Not where you've been.

Every step and every day, you, are further away.

From the pain.

But your mind won't let you rest, you see it again you feel the regret.

It dims our whole life, what life we have left.

It steals our dreams.

That's why we keep running... and if you keep looking forward... there will be another adventure worth living.

Nicely put together a story well told.

This poem I really like it brings up the saying "Failure is but a Lesson" You definitely described here, my friend

I'd fight you for the last word on the matter, but I dare say you've already won.

"With each step and every passing day, you drift further away. I could relate my life of back and forth, but it's all part of the journey. Great poem."

Thanks. It's a pleasure to have someone read my work, but it's an honour when someone relates to it.

Eventually as the wounds become scars, we started looking forward. A great piece, Lairyck. Have a lovely day.

In a few years a tragic story is just that. A story. What is life without a story worth reading?

Me too. The toughest part about life is that good people will know suffering as anyone. I would hate to imagine a world where good people gave up because of that.
