Failure

FAILURE

You will fail
You will fail as surely as you draw breath
Failure is a part of physical being
In physical history failure outweighs success
It is many times to one
                                 man has failed
                                                        yet
The added plus to consciousness is
    that rare time he wins
The win may be large or small
But it does increase circumference of the ball

Failure if goodly
                        If Godly
                                   Sincere
Shouldn’t carry shame
unless one lets the sting of failure
take him out of the game

Persevere

There is such grandeur in a win

Thank you, Daver, for this poem. Focus on failure forever binds the freedom needed for success. Focus on success drives the inner-self to pleasant places and even greater success. Sometimes, it is necessary to re-think a few things. Thank you. Lovingly, Dane

So much truth to your words. The only failure is not in trying--there's always something be learned even if things don't work out as planned. I really like the creative format of this poem. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. Karen

Is there grandeur in a loss as well? Perhaps - Or else one just tells oneself that. As always, your work touches, whether emotions, or intellect - or both. I've been offline Daver - Still haven't gotten the home computer online. I shall I shall. I've been polishing up a couple of songs I wrote this past February in hopes one'll be considered for inclusion on a compilation CD. I've sold a number of my CD that came out in March - and in July I'll be doing a new songwriting challenge. C ya

great poem - I preach failure to my children - without it how can they learn who they are and what they need? Every failure is a life lesson, a chance to learn.

I agree with Shar, this poem begs for philosophical discussion, preferably in front of a fire with a glass of old red wine and a friend or two. See what this poem does to one? Sure sign of a very good poem. Well done. Regards Heidie

You're so right about the need to persevere and not let our failures get us down, Daver. Sometimes it is hard to do this, but we fail ourselves when we don't put forth the effort. You inspire us to stay in "the game" with this very wise write! Love you, dear friend! Carolyn

I love the message in this excellent write. I do believe we learn something each time we fail, which actually makes it not a failure at all. I guess it is all how you look at it. I could go on (but I will spare you)...which is the sign of an awesome thought provoking write! Love, Shar
