Fading Memory

I am trying to remember love at first sight, But the intensity of your gaze Is slipping me. I am slowly forgetting How your touch lit a fire beneath my skin, And burnt my barriers. I am itching to recognize your face in my memories, But it becomes too fuzzy around the edges, And starts fading away. I can hear the sound of your voice in my head, But it’s muffled and you may as well Be speaking another language. I cannot escape the inevitability of forgetting, And maybe I am trying too hard to hold on To a fading memory.

Love this write Sarah. It's horrible when memories escape us.
