Fading Echoes

Once, my foolish words would spark a smile, Every empty tale was precious for a while. She’d listen, laugh at my nonsense lines, Like they held secrets or hidden signs. But now, even “hello” feels like weight, A sigh meets my words as if it’s too late. Gone are the chuckles, the gleaming eyes, Now just “hmm” sits between us and sighs. I miss the days of simple grace, When silence was rare in that loving space. Yet here I am, with all these words, Silent echoes now left unheard.
