Fading

everyone i touch
seems to turn from dawn to dusk
the light that draws me in
expires in my hands
am i damned to be the one
to steal the rays from every sun
when i came to you
you were darkness chasing daylight
seeking to cleanse
the shadow from your soul
somehow the more i tempted you
the worse your pain became
am i a companion or a cause
on this journey into night
my punishment;
to watch your drowning, in spite
of i every favor i might render,
to see the light of my own heart
turn to ashes in the shelter
of these unworthy hands
