Faded To Two

remember how we used to be
i was with you
you with me
wed spend hours talking about anything
it didnt matter as long as we were together.

i was yours
you were mine

wed wait for the rest to end
so we could spend now together
and stop the world right in its tracks
to leave us alone.

id wait for you
youd wait for me

so that it would be us soon enough.
i only mattered as you fumbled to keep me
forgetting your world to leave it behind.

we used to be one
but we've faded to two.

your life is yours
and mine is just mine.

it could have been us
but you left me asking why.
