FADED PHOTOGRAPHS
Click-click; just a fleeting moment in time,
But I still recall as if yesterday,
That warm summer afternoon quite sublime
As you posed for me in that modest way.
You sat on the grass, your skirt spread around,
While, behind you, the sun shone on the lake.
Click-click; I will never forget the sound,
Although they took just that instant to take.
And, in that instant, I knew in my heart
We were meant for each other, you and I.
We promised ourselves we would never part.
Together, we said, we’d reach for the sky.
But somehow our love just faded away
Just like those photos I’d taken that day
