Faded Photograph
From my wallet, fell a reminder
A faded photograph, from my past
A smile quickly came upon my face
Wishing, that forever, it would last.
It was like yesterday, but not.
Truly, it was a lifetime ago,
She and I were best of friends
Posing together, there in the snow.
Whatever became of the girl from my youth?
Where did she go? What does she do?
The photograph tells me to think of her now
And remember those days, fondly, of youth.
If she could see me now, smiling at the photo,
What would she think? Would she have a laugh?
I look back now. It brings great memories.
Through this photo I’m reliving my past.
