Faded

Your colour has started to fade
The light you had is disappearing
Where are you going?
Mummy look what I have made

But you never look
Just turn so I face you back
Every time I tried to speak to you
You just had me another book

Where did you go?
Did daddy make you this way?
Don't think he meant it
Mummy why are you so low?

My only answer is the ticking clock
as you bolt another door
Trapping us inside
Closing another lock

Please, mum, don't leave me alone
Her eyes begin to swell
She rocks back and fourth
Huddled in her home,

A child's innocense and hurt and questions, I am reading in this haunting poem, "please, mum, don't leave me alone" how many parents have done that without leaving in reality, well done Crystal, your poem is very moving~~

Sad and dark. Looks like it could fit well into the dark contest, but that one is prose, I guess. This is great description of someone abused. Luv, Andrea
